Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Cribbage Companion website, calculator, browser game, learning materials, and planned Android app (collectively, the "Services"). Cribbage Companion is published by Mahkyo, a game studio operated by DIGI LLC ("DIGI," "we," "us," or "our").

Acceptance

By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Eligibility

The Services are general-audience services intended for users age 13 and older and are not directed to children under 13. There is no account-age or age-verification system. You must comply with applicable age, parental-consent, and advertising rules.

License and permitted use

Subject to these Terms, DIGI grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial entertainment and learning. The Services, including their software, text, artwork, audio, names, logos, and design, are owned by or licensed to DIGI and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not transfer ownership.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services. You may not circumvent advertising, purchase checks, reward limits, game protections, or other technical restrictions; use automation or exploits to obtain unfair rewards or entitlements; copy or commercially exploit the Services without permission; or use the Services to violate law or another person's rights.

Website, calculator, and browser game

The calculator and learning materials are provided for general information and learning. Calculator results depend on the cards and options entered.

The browser game at /play/ is an ad-free local-play demo. It provides core cribbage gameplay and is not an account, cloud-save, or backup service. Browser game state and settings may remain in browser storage for a session, may be lost, and do not transfer to the Android app. The website does not provide mobile purchases, mobile advertising, or the Android app's economy and progression features.

Planned Android app, advertising, and purchases

The Android version of Cribbage Companion is planned to include the full game, earned coins and cosmetics, achievements, Dealer Offers, and other mobile progression features. It is planned to use Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for free-player advertising, including rewarded ads for Dealer Offers and limited interstitial or reconnect advertising. Advertising availability and treatment may depend on region, consent, age treatment, device, and Google's policies. Rewarded ads are optional and rewards are granted only when the app and provider confirm completion.

The Android version is planned to use Google's UMP/CMP consent and privacy flow. Personalized advertising is subject to applicable law, Google policy, and appropriate consent. Android Settings is planned to provide Privacy Choices where applicable.

The one-time Remove Ads purchase is planned to be offered through Google Play at an intended price of $4.99 USD. The price displayed by Google Play controls. Remove Ads is planned to suppress Android advertising and enable full offline play. It is a restorable Google Play purchase. Google Play is the purchase and entitlement authority, and the current design does not include a DIGI backend receiving purchase tokens or order data. Restoration does not restore separate device-local game progress, coins, or cosmetics.

There are no planned subscriptions, coin packs, or cash/premium cosmetic tier at launch. Normal cosmetics use earned coins, and achievement cosmetics are earned rather than sold. Virtual coins and cosmetics have no real-world cash value, are not redeemable for money or goods, and are not transferable except as the Services expressly allow.

Sharing and third-party services

The Services do not provide user profiles, public posting, chat, or account-based uploads. The Android app may invoke the operating-system share sheet when you choose to share a scored hand. You decide whether and with whom to share the generated text or link; the recipient and destination service control their own processing.

The Services may depend on Netlify for website hosting, Google Play for Android distribution and purchases, and Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for planned Android advertising. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Availability and disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, preservation of local saves, or that every feature, advertisement, purchase, reward, or network service will be available on every device or in every location.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DIGI LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from or related to the Services. Where permitted by applicable law, DIGI's total liability for a claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid DIGI for the relevant Services during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services, users, or rights holders, or when you materially violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual-property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing-law provisions.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the law of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any permitted court proceeding must be brought in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, subject to applicable law and any non-waivable consumer rights.

Changes and contact

We may revise these Terms when the Services or law changes. The current version will be posted at cribbagecompanion.com/terms/ with its effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
