The 60-second version

Enough rules to start your first hand.

Cribbage has unusual vocabulary, not an impossible structure. Once you see the order of a hand, the rest becomes pattern recognition.

    Race to 121

    Move your pegs whenever you score.

  2. 02

    Get six cards

    Keep four and put two into the crib.

  3. 03

    Play the four

    Take turns without pushing the count above 31.

  4. 04

    Score as you play

    Fifteens, pairs, runs, 31, and the last card score.

  5. 05

    Count your hand

    Use your four cards plus the shared starter card.

  6. 06

    Dealer counts the crib

    Then the deal changes hands and you go again.

That is enough to start. You do not need to memorize every scoring combination first.
